Social Networking is Something of All Ages

My daughter is about 8 years now and often, when she is coming home from school, she is carrying a friendship book.

It wasn't until today, when I was looking at what they are writing in there, that I noticed they are interested in the exact same things as we are. The want to know names, addresses, phone numbers, hobby's, favorite artists, movies, cartoons, ... . Based upon all that information, they then from communities at school. You know, the ones that are interested in X are playing together and the others are interested Y and they do some other stuff. Sometimes it goes even that far that they adjust there favorites to be accepted by one specific group, and most probably become the biggest fan of that common denominator.

What is the difference with us, grown ups? Nothing that I can come up with ...
